We're More Than a Gym. We're a Cause.
In addition to heart-pumping workouts you know the Y for; the Hopkins County Family YMCA also offers heart-filled help as a national nonprofit. The Y is helping kids, adults and families in neighborhoods nationwide - but most importantly, right here in Hopkins County – with programs and services from A to Z: afterschool care, diabetes prevention, financial assistance, summer feeding, volunteerism, and so much more.
Our Cause Defines Us
The Y knows that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That’s why, at the Hopkins County Family YMCA, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, the Y works side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Our Strength is in Community
The Y is a nonprofit like no other. That’s because in neighborhoods across Hopkins County, the YMCA has the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver positive change. The Y is community-centered. For nearly 150 years, we’ve been listening and responding to our community. The Y brings people together. We connect people of all ages and backgrounds to bridge the gaps in community needs. The Y nurtures potential. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
As one of Hopkins County’s leading nonprofits committed to helping people and our community succeed, our contributions are both far-fetching and intimate – from influencing our culture during times of profound change to the individual support we provide a child learning to read. By nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the County’s health and well-being, and supporting and serving our neighbors, the Y ensures that everyone has the opportunity to become healthier, more confident, connected and secure.
As we continue to serve Hopkins Countians, we are proud of our rich history of many successes over the years. We look forward to continue serving a membership base of over 7,000 individuals. We hope to continue adding youth programs to join our staples like soccer, basketball, archery, t-ball, and swimming. We are thankful to know that the swim lessons we teach monthly have the potential to save lives. We are blessed to be a blessing to the 2,400 youth who we provide summer meals to each year. We are excited to continue our collaborations with our first responders and law enforcement agencies through the Patrick Rudd Project.
We’re more than a gym. We’re a cause. And we will always be here for Hopkins County.
